art studio

My family has always had a passion for art. Raised by an architect father and a mother who loved painting, my sisters and I were always sketching. While my sisters were art majors, I wasn't allowed that option, since they had struggled to find jobs. After college, my work has mainly involved pr and graphic design. But I would love an art studio of my own! Who wouldn't love a private place to paint, sketch and dream?art studio

Seaside Cottage

Summer reminds me of many trips to the beach -- and the wonderful homes and condos where I've vacationed. My favorite "home away from home" is always a seaside cottage with soft, soothing colors. And some of the best ones are in Seaside, Fla. Located on the Highway 30-A, Seaside is well-known by design professionals throughout the country. Here's a look at a few of the best designs by the sea...

DIY bucket of sunshine

I've seen several "boxes of sunshine" projects on Pinterest. But my family's at the beach this week, so I thought, "Why not a beach bucket of sunshine?" You can spend as much money as you want. (Hint, hint: The Dollar Store has plenty of inexpensive items to choose from.) So make a loved one's day with a summery "bucket of sunshine"!DIY bucket of sunshine

DIY Beach Hair

Good hair days are hard to maintain during a hot and humid summer. Luckily, "beach hair' is a wonderful alternative. And you don't have to spend a day at the beach to get it. Sea salt texturizing sprays are great for creating tousled waves. You can buy yours over the counter, but I've found a great alternative. "DIY Beachy Hair Mist" is a combination of 1 cup hot water, 3 tsp. sea salt, 1/2 tsp. coconut oil, and 3 tbsp. hair gel. Pour it all in a spray bottle, shake to mix, and start spraying and scrunching your hair. Plus, I've included a few beach hair photos for fun!
